Finally watched it. Awesome job I have to say it's unlike any ER fan vids I've seen before. Without any unnecessary decorate, it's deep, it's straight and really moving. Maybe because I've already read a lot of your analysis posts about Carter and Carter/Benton relationship, I can feel your thoughts and emotion behind the vid (especial the scenes you put when the song goes to the point about "eyes" several times. That's definitely going to touch everyone who KNOWS and LOVES those two.) My favorite part of this video is the atmosphere surrounds it. It's the deepest part of Carter/Benton love, so pure and strong yet a little bit sad...(Sorry, It's so hard to describe it, thanks to their unique relationship and my poor English...)But you made the video, Anna. You must know the best. Last but not least, I love the song!!!!!!!! The melody and the lyrics are both perfect! It really matches the video and the chemistry between Carter and Betnon. Thank you so much for making this:) Just love it.

And I normally HATE fan vids... Me too! ... usually... but spaceyume's and yours are changing my mind! I think I dislike that fanvids are usually by couple shippers (with the exception of Carter/Benton of course... ) ... with some stupid love song. But fanvids made by fans of one character, who really know the character, are different! ;D (and rare... )

Mmmm... I find it really not bad . Of course Noah is much better ;D, but I find the guy doing a good job, especially in the crying in the end... and all in all reproducing quite well Noah's tone. I've never thought a lot about it, but now I wonder if dubbing guys listen over and over again to the original version to try to really memorize the tone of the original actor, or if they just go quickly to a mute version of the scene, with the text to say and try to say it as they think it fits the best with the emotions... In this exemple of The Letter, it sounds to me like the guy knows exactly how Noah said it...

Probably everyone has his method....but I agree that in this case the dubbing guy seems to know Noah's style and probably that's the reason why I loved Carter's italian voice before I started to listen and love the original one

This guy is good... but it's still weird to see Carter and hear a different voice, though, it's something I could never get used to. The woman who does Susan's voice, for example, just sounds wrong... But it's obvious that he's heard the way Noah does the scene, because he's got the exact same speech rythem, makes the same pauses, voice breaks at the same places. That's gotta be tough. Half the acting's in the voice!

That's the point, indeed. Even if the dubbing guy is really good it won't be never the same and even if I appreciate those people's job I still think that if you want to really apreciate the acting you have to listen the original voice. I really like Alessio Cigliano (the dubbing guy who does Carter's voice) but Noah's acting is so good that I can't watch Noah in italian without finding it...weird?

Indeed! And god knows Noah knows how to master his own voice! There are many scenes that I knew only in french first and could finally watch in english at a point, and I really went "wow..." ;D
I can only 'accept' (if at all...) dubbed version when it was what I knew first (like ER... I went until season 8 before hearing Noah's voice for the first time), and even at a point, when my english became 'good' enough, I started trying to read lips to know what were the original words. I was really eager to finally find out how Noah really sounded, and I wasn't disappointed ;D!

Oh man. that clip from The Letter made me rewatch the three episodes around Mark's death- Orion in the sky, The Letter and On The Beach... and I've been crying my eyeballs out for the last *checks clock* two hours. I don't remember being so sad when I watched season 8 originally... Never really was a Greene fan. But this was heartbreaking. I guess it figures, your outlook on life can change so much in eight years. Back then I was more concerned with whether Carter is going to finally date Abby... Anyway, yeah. That was pointless. I did, however, make some clips... to distract myself. From Beyond Repair... I love Angry!Carter. And he has every right to be mad, especially after the day he'd had. And I'm not going to post the video- it's somewhere out there in youtube- but can I just say again about that scene where he sees Sobriki, how brilliant I think it was that they had him recognize him just by hearing his voice? You know he'd heard that voice so many times in his nightmares, but you think it's all pretty much in the past. And the fact he recognized it so quickly shows that he never really stopped thinking about the stabbing, even after all this time... and when he hears Paul again, the horror is so beautifully acted. Poor Carter. I felt bad for him, sitting on the bathroom floor listening to his mother say she just abandoned his brother--- right sentiment, wrong brother. I know we don't like Abby, but I actually really, really like this scene- Noah looks great. Carter was a million shades of awesome in this episode. And who wouldn't buy a Hallmark card written by Carter? I also love the petty theft he's committing there. Yeah, yeah, I appreciate the symbolism, but come on, he's stealing Mark's stethoscope.

Thank you!! ;D What a beautiful bunch of episodes in the second half of S8! I just loved how they developed the relationship between Carter and his mother, starting from plain anger and bitterness on Carter's side, and just coldness on his mom's side, and gradually showing that Carter was understanding where his mom's abandonment was coming from, and showing at the same time that his mom was eager to try and fix the past... Their last shown scene, resolving all with having her telling him that she loved him, was just wonderful. Yeah! I was amazed too that he could recognize the voice so easily, but it really all makes sense. The fact that he is hardly able to say a thing, that he physically has to run away and ends up puking says it all... And Noah's acting (as usual... ) is amazing when showing how Carter recognizes Sobriki's voice, how he can show so much just with his eyes... For the ending scene in Beyond Repair, I am not so thrilled ... I don't know what it is exactly, but I find the writing not all good. Some parts I find really good, and some others a bit 'forced' maybe... the "you were the same place that you've been my entire life, you were some place else... " was already used by Doug Ross, and I don't like it . Oh, I didn't remember it so well, and it's true he looks great ;D! nice scene, even with Abby...

Oh my god, so that's where I heard that! I knew it sounded familiar. Well, yeah, I'm very willing to overlook the cliche factor in ER if it serves the purpose (which in this case is advancing the plot between Carter and his mom and taking them from not-talking-about-it-and-pretending-everything's-fine to the next step...) I was so disappointed in Beyond Repair that we didn't get to see any conclusion to the Carter-sees-Sobriki storyline. He refuses to talk about it, goes home, and we never hear about it again. Just another mention of that would have been nice, a conversation with Susan or with Deb or with SOMEONE, maybe show him reading that note that mrs. Sobriki left him... anything, rather than just completely forgetting everything about it by next episode. They always do that, miss opportunities like that to give Abby an extra three minutes or air time. P.S I found Susan's lack of concern for Carter in that episode a little alarming, really. Obviously she was looking out for her patient, and she wouldn't have a strong reaction like Abby- she wasn't there that night, she can be objective- but she basically just went from treating Sobriki and straight to a party without giving her "boyfriend" a second thought... ETA: those lockers changing places is pretty funny. Shouldn't Benton's locker be somewhere on the OR floor? Come to think about it, Benton left the previous episode--- so he shouldn't have a locker anywhere. Continuing The Case of the Moving Lockers, this is from the previous episode- I'll Be Home For Christmas- (apparently Kovac's locker got tired of existing between Carter and Benton's sometime between the two episodes. Fate, I tell you...) But wait, wait, here we are in The Letter, and Carter's locker is all the way at the end of the row, next to Greene's... I should definitely investigate it further... make an episode-by-episode guide for locker locations.

Oh, the locker's mistery!!! Another reason to watch it from the start again ;D;) I suppose it has to do with the fact that she had to be immolated to Abby's sanctification: Susan's out of character insensitivity amplifies Abby's reaction and once again everything is about Abby even if it should have been about Carter. Anna, I have a smiley request for you....one which says..."Enough with Abby!!"
