I can't hear Clocks without seeing Carter (at the end of No Good Deed Goes Unpunished, kicking some dust... ). *sigh* Happy Carter and Kem... good old days ... Lol! At 0:24 there's a transition between s7 Abby (whom I actually liked!!!.. most of the time... ) to s9 Abby (her face alone annoys me...). I find that interesting that it hardly looks like the same woman (or is it just me? ). In one of the Such Sweet Sorrow clips that Anna posted: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AogrzrwNFJk, how does Malucci call Carter at 1:17? I could almost hear: "You're okay, boss?" (making Gates Malucci2.0) ... But I don't really get it... Someone with better ears around?

That video isn't showing up for me, and I'm almost glad it isn't... Which scene is it? I liked the pool scene, though I have to admit Sherry's acting seemed a bit over the top. Like, her giggles seem forced. But I'm going to give her the credit of saying that maybe it was meant to seem this way... Susan would definitely be uncomfortable after such a discovery and the over-the-top laughter might be just the way the scene was written, and not bad acting. (I can come up with excuses for everything, see?) Anyway, yeah, the reflections from the water on their faces are beautiful. I love the "clocks" video... Beautiful song and beautiful Happy!Carter. And the ending almost made me cry. Really well done!!! Now, if only The Beard wasn't there.... (I have a feeling I'm going to have to learn to like the beard, eh?) Hehe. Raffy made a carby fan video. Who'd have thought... looks like we all have skeletons in our closets. (But it's ok, Raffy, you still rule... and we're better people now... =) )

That video isn't showing up for me, and I'm almost glad it isn't... Which scene is it? It's not showing here for me either (but I saw the new upload on Raffy's YT channel ). It's the Carter and Abby shower scene at the beginning of "Dead Again". There's somehow something making that scene not really hot (and I don't think it's just because of my dislike of Carby now... I quite liked them at the time, and I don't remember finding it a good scene ... though I was happy to see wet Carter and there's something about his neck that I find wow ). I don't know what it is, maybe the fact that Abby seems annoyed, but this scene is so dull compared to the Carter/Elaine deleted scene (or their aired bed scene... ). Yeah, I agree (that, and the Burberry coat... ). Okay, that will sound mean, but I found quite often Sherry's acting not appealing when she came back to ER. In the first three seasons, I really liked her (her acting when Susan has to deal with losing little Susie, the shrink scene... really all perfect. The scene where Susan goes in a church and let a little stuffed animal there, while saying about little Susie that she was "her story book" remains one of my all time favorites on ER, and it's the only one 'non Carter' in that category!!! ). But Susan post-S8, mmm... there was something a bit off for me.

Wrong code! Now it works Probably because Rebecca De Mornay showed more "passion" than Maura Tierney did there, but they didn't cut it this time!!! . He pulled her in the shower. He kissed her. Ans she was totally "passive". I know the scene was scripted like that but MT could have shown "something" with her eyes at least or put her arms around his neck, for instance.....a little of initiative could have improved the all thing. But I just saw the usual Abby's worried expression. As I wrote on youtube the only hot thing about this scene is Carter's shower. Really. Most of the time in their few"romantic" scenes Tierney looked uncomfortable like their characters never had intimacy. It takes two to tango and it takes two to make those scenes realistically "hot". And did you notice that it's almost always Carter who takes the initiative in their romantic scenes? Why did they write all their scene like that? I'm touched, Anna! Thank you And if you consider that I liked them around season 7-8.....it's not so strange...but still shameful! ;D I cross my fingers for you, let's hope he sticks with the scruffy look, without the full-beard

Well, I don't find that scene THAT horrible... Abby's just teasing him about wasting the water. Sure, they're about as hot as a brick, but I don't know... I'm too distracted by the fact Carter's in the shower to care. Most of that scene is Abby's legs anyway. I guess the fact she's standing there like, well, a brick, isn't helping the sexiness of the scene. But I don't think it's THAT horrible...
To be honest, I did worse stuff... So yeah, I'm not judging you. I'd show you some of the fanart I made at that time, but I think I destroyed it all.

I don't think it was horrible too. But it wasn't as "hot!" as it was supposed to be. And they have all the material to make it "hot". But it didn't work. Nooo! Why???

I agree it's not horrible, but just wasted opportunity. Oh the potential here!!! Carter in the shower for god's sakes! (was it the only time, I think so? )

Completely random post ahead... you've been warned! ;D
Okay so I'm rewatching season 6, and I know I tend to over-analyze episodes, but it's so much fun! in regards to Carter episodes, I'm noticing a lot of stuff now that I haven't before. I love how the first half of the season has such a strong bearing on the second half of it. Many of the storylines that are planted in the first half come back in the second half- like the diabetes kid, and the elderly patient in Be Still My Heart. But there are some less obvious ones! First off, a couple of episodes before All in The Family we have Carter taking care of a paralyzed boy who's depressed and upset because he's losing his independance and he's tired of everyone treating him like a baby. And it looks like a random patient storyline, until you think about how the rest of the season will play out for Carter. Now, if we had that patient AFTER the stabbing I'd scream "obvious!!!" but two episodes back, and nobody even remembers. Nice foreshadowing. There's some more obvious foreshadowing in BSMH with the "heads will roll" and the nurses not finding the knife.
Also, we find out that Carter's O-Negative when he donates blood in "Great Expectations". We hear about his blood type once again, of course, seven episodes later. What goes around comes around.
Speaking of blood and donation, I was watching AITF for the 100000th time today and I noticed for the first time that there are "blood!" and "donate blood, save a life" stickers everywhere, in between the Valentine's decorations. I know it's a hospital, so you'd always have those posters, but the camera is really focusing on them a lot. There's even a nurse wearing a "get tested" ribbon across her chest in one of the trauma scenes with Lucy. Talk about subliminal messages, eh? We have A LOT of shots of those stickers in the scene before Weaver finds Carter and Lucy, and I think that to have the walls literally scream "blood!!!" is pure genius. Not something you notice, but really, really cool.
On another note, the clocks in that episode are doing all kinds of weird things. Like in the trauma room when they're opening Lucy's chest the clock says 10:10, and then in one of the OR scenes with Carter, right before Lucy throws a clot, the clock on the wall says 10:20... Which probably can't be true, unless there's a massive time-warp. But I've always wondered about the time progression in that episode- how long WAS it before they found Carter and Lucy? (Technically when we left off in BSMY the party was at full blast. it would have to be long enough for the party to die down and for Benton to finish his drink with Cleo and go back upstairs...I should really do some sort of timeline on those two episodes one day) and the scene with Carter and Benton in recovery, how long after the surgery would that have been, for him to be that lucid? I really need to get myself a life. You know you've watched an episode too many times when you can (a)fast forward to the exact minute of an exact scene and (b)notice what the clock on the wall says.*
*and when you notice that in the scene where Carter wakes up in the ER, there's someone stepping over some wires in the background, again, and again. Three times. As in, three different takes. See me needing life.

I love over-analyzing too ;D!!! And I guess it's been very very long that I don't have a life, since I had noticed all the points you made (Yeah.. watching every episode of S6 about 10 times, for 'random' ones, plus another 36 additional times for significant ones like BSMH and AITF will do that to your brain... ) In the one where Carter donates blood by the way, apparently they manage to get a unit from him really fast and Haleh tells him: "you're a good bleeder, Carter" *shudders* And yep, there's definitely a continuity goof with Abby walking around the gurney when Carter wakes up in the ER...

I uploaded some more clips on youtube... For some reason I found myself watching season 1 and season 11 back to back, instead of doing homework. Very odd. 1x05: Hit and Run Those would be the "breaking the news to the parents... oops, wrong parents... breaking the news again" scenes. And I totally didn't remember Carter's scene outside with Jerry until I watched it... 11x01 Oh man, there's no getting around it- I really don't like Kem. And I think that, aside from the way her character is written, Thandie Newton ruined this scene for me. I just don't buy into her acting. *shrugs* But I absolutely love what Noah does here- the subtlety of it- so I figured it's worth posting. 11x02 Carter is having a bad day. Doesn't help that a psychotic patient decides to attack him with a butcher knife metal emesis basin. What is it with Carter and psychos?! (two things I noticed: a. Noah is starting to laugh when he calls for restraints and b. "I am NOT deformed" is definitely a reference to AITF) Poor guy is still trying to get over Thandie Newton's bad acting Kem, and it's not going too well. His patient- a young soldier who was wounded in Iraq- hits a personal note. and when our boy finally falls off the wagon, and then comes back to the ER to try and force his patient to call his fiance... ...Luka takes him aside for a cup of coffee. Now, as much as I love this scene, the way they handled Carter in season 11 was just so wrong. It pisses me off so much that they never WENT anywhere with this. Like in this episode, he comes to the ER drunk. Now, there should have been consequences... or at least some sort of reference to the fact he really, really shouldn't be drinking. Or coming to work drunk. What happened to continuity? it's like by the following episode, everything was ok again. Obviously Carter wasn't "100% better", but at this point in the series I was starting to really resent the fact they weren't giving any thought at all to his storyline. There were a million ways they could take it, and they took the easy one. They chose to focus more on Neela and Abby than bother writing anything meaningful for Carter. Such a waste. Random question for those with season 10/11 DVDs (or just a good memory...) I seem to remember a scene with Carter leaning against a coke machine, looking absolutely exhausted. Can't place the episode. It's been bugging me all morning. Help?
