Btw, for something amusing, a fashion site wrote what accessories Kem had on. Lanvin shoes and a Chloe bag. I wonder where Kem's getting that kind of money. Still drawing from the Carter accounts? LOL

I think that's very possible. I just can't think of another way to explain it... Gotta disagree with you there- at least as far as Carter's concerned, Noah's always given a lot of thought to the character's development and we've seen a lot of times that he does have some insight into the character's mind, sometimes more than the writers do. He usually seemed to know where he wanted the character to go (even when it was Africa, a twist that I hated at the time because it felt weird in a show like ER) so I would say I trust him to know what's right for the character... but this is wrong, and it's amazing to me that he could either miss it entirely or mislead us so convincingly.

I don't mean in terms of his character. I mean just in general. I wouldn't nominate him for Mensa if you know what I mean. He's not the kind who can perfectly navigate everything in the industry and plan his career with precision. He doesn't have that cunning drive or ambition.
Let me give a small example. In the early years, the producers wanted Clooney to wear green scrubs. He knew they were hideous and made the person wearing them look all sickly and unflattering so he just refused. There was nothing they could do to convince him and he would only appear wearing what he wanted to wear. See, my point is George is smart enough to know how important attractiveness and appeal are in being a star. If it was possible, he would avoid these pitfalls as much as possible.
Noah, on the other hand, would in his usual gee golly gosh way do whatever is asked and be a good boy even if it's ultimately detrimental to him. I don't think the thought even comes into his head.

Too bad the episode wasn't shown on April 1st. I could actually hold onto the hope that the actual finale is next week then .

Right. I feel like crawling under the couch and curling up in a ball and sticking my fingers in my ears and repeating "that didnt happen, that didn't happen". So I'm going to go work on my denial a little bit.
I'm just so #$%#ing disappointed.

You know what? I'm actually crying... I'm really so disappointed. I thought I would cry from being moved by the show, but no, it's just out of frustration and anger, and a feeling of sadness about all they could have done with Carter and didn't do.
The only significant lines that Carter had were for the opening of the Joshua Carter Center, but even then, it wasn't especially well written. Why did he call Joshua's death a "small" tragedy? And Kem showing up just at that moment, quite lame...

I agree. And it doesn't seem he cares about it.
And probably it's one of the reason I like him so much. He's not a big star but I don't care because I think he's better than this.

Claired! Come on! Don't be sad! I know, we've spent 15 years watching this TV show and Carter is our favourite but don't cry for that! It's hard to do but let's remember it's just television even if it was really good TV (for the first 8 years at least ).

I couldn't agree more. Luckily for him, he can afford to make bad choices. *desperately needs to watch a good episode of old!ER to help the depression. Grrr.* ETA: for claired80-

Thank you so much!!! ;D You put a big grin on my face Raffy and Darksparrow! Yep, let's go watch some Librarian! Great idea! And the pics behind the scenes are awesome. Funny how they have Carter's props all together, with the watch and pen in it! I hope Noah got to take that 'bag'!

I watched it and i enjoyed it. Boy it seems like everybody is really down on Noah. Personally i think we need more like him in Hollywood. Yeah sure George has made some big movies and i know Noah's have not been that big. And somebody said they didn't tell us what happened with the girl, but alot of patients have come through that door and we don't know what has happen with them. I think it's clear as to the ending of Carter and Kim. I think we forgot he got in trouble when he said months ago that George would come back to ER. As for Susan,Weaver and Benton well they showed them coming back for what they came back for the opening and for Carter. I thought it was neat how the boy they had playing reese was the same one they had when he was a baby. I think some of us got our hopes up really high, Like Noah said there was only one show that the ending lived up to it's hipe and that was MASH. I Think he already knew some people would be dissapointed but i wasn't. Loved ER for the 15 years it was on and gonna miss it on Thursday nights. And i think Noah Wyle is a good actor and a great man. And I Hope the best for him and his family in the future.

I really don't know for sure about that. I think Wells really let it totally open . If you don't like Kem, then they'll divorce. If you like her and/or think she's the right one for Carter, then they will fix things... I would say they are over, but there are signs that it could be that not. Carter's wedding ring was so darn visible! really shiny in many scenes. Why have it so visible if they are over for sure? And Kem was sometimes half smiling at him.. I've read on other boards that she was just cold and bitter and/or b!tchy, but I really didn't see that. I saw her as a very scarred woman who can't stand approaching Chicago... but still having feelings for Carter. And Carter seemed hopeful that his phone call in the morning would lead to something, while talking with Gates. And she was the one telling him to call her...
