I love them too!! ;D The little article going with that pic says that the woman in white could be Laura Innes. That looks like a good possibility! If Benton, Weaver and Susan are back for the Joshua Carter Center opening, I find it a good realistic plot. Those are people who were really close to Carter, and who maybe could play a role in the Center (maybe Carter tried to hire some of them for the center?). I would find it less realistic if Doug and Carol were there for that. They were really never close to Carter...

Claire do you mind if I post them on lj too?
Susan, Benton and Weaver have shared a lot with Carter so it has sense. Doug and Carol left many years ago and they're friend with Mark mor than with Carter. But they're going to play a part in Carter's story, so they're still part of the big picture. I think it's a good way to wrap all the oldies' stories.

Claire do you mind if I post them on lj too? I don't mind at all! Go ahead! ;D Yeah, Doug and Carol will play a distant role I imagine (my guess is at convincing Susan Sarandon's character to donate the organs of her grandson) which fits very well for them. Carter's 'real' friends will be present in a closer way. The big picture is nicely put together like that. I like it! ;D When I imagined the end of ER of few months ago, I didn't think they would make it so Carter-centric. I love that they do! but I wonder how everybody can feel about that. So far we've seen him but it's not all about him. I imagine they'll keep going like that, with a nice balance between his big storyline and the other characters' stories. But still, bringing back the old characters seem to be all about Carter! I love that idea because I love Carter, but one can wonder how the other actors feel about that. I don't think they can get jealous. Noah has been on the show more than anyone so it's normal that he is the center of its ending. But I could imagine that on any other ensemble show, they could have had a hard time to bring back former actors and not give them a big spotlight! My guess is that actors are coming back, knowing it's for a Carter storyline, because Noah is such a nice guy and they loved working with him and they are really friends with him. I never heard anything else than high admiration when other actors or directors are talking about working with Noah (on ER or on movies...). They always say he is a great professional, great actor, and very nice to work with, not arrogant or with a star attitude. I imagine it plays a role now for ER being successfull in bringing back former actors. I'm not sure they would have managed for an actor less nice.

Thank you! Just few months ago I wasn't so excited about the finale. I thought they were going to waste Noah's episodes and waste his screentime, without giving him a good storyline. So even the kidney storylines, which looked really sad and gave us cause of concern, looks better than nothing. But now that it seems that everyone from the old cast is going to play a role in this story and that Carter is not going to die I like it more than before. And If they're going to show that he and Kem still love each other it's going to be perfect ;D As for Noah I think he deserves the special treatment. He stayed with the show for 11 years and even when he left he still showed his gratitude for the show leaving them 8 episodes to use whenever they wanted. And fortunally it seems they're using them in a good way. I've to say that even if Carter's story has big part in those last episodes it'sn't so intrusive and it's well mixed with the other storylines. Seeing those episodes I'm more conviced that Carter's character was underused throught the last three years. After 15 years he has still something to say

From TV Guide Com
ER's Last 24 Hours ER's much-anticipated finale, airing April 2, will be set during a 24-hour shift beginning at 4 am, executive producer John Wells reveals to TV Guide magazine.
The last minute call for an additional three shows, Wells explains, “allowed me to do in the finale something which I had originally thought of doing but wouldn’t have been able to do if we hadn’t gotten the extension.” It also gave him the opportunity to expand several storylines including those of love-torn Neela (Parminder Nagra) and the returning Carter (Noah Wyle).
The producer, whose cop show Southland takes over ER's long held Thursday night slot on NBC, says he decided to thread such returning actors as George Clooney, Juliana Margulies and Eriq La Salle through the final season rather than shoehorn them into the finale. “We’ve had characters coming back throughout the year for stories that make sense,” he says. “The way you actually bump into people in your real life who you haven’t seen for a while but used to know well.”
The episode featuring Clooney and Margulies' return is set to air March 12, and will guest-star Susan Sarandon as a woman dealing with a tragedy involving her grandson.

Of course he does! Carter is really one (if not THE) most interesting characters in the history of TV shows. I could have done without any extended Neela (she annoys me more and more... ), and I don't really see where Carter's storyline was extended. He was planned for 4 episodes, I guess the kidney failure storyline was planned (Noah let it out long ago...). March 12th episode was supposed to be the last, and now we know it'll be the kidney transplant. It was really supposed to be ending like that for Carter? That sounds a bit... not finished. I would have thought that they would still have ended with the Joshua Carter Center opening or something else like Carter becoming ER chief. Maybe they would just have rushed all more. I don't really imagine his storyline was 'extended'. I think it was just made a tiny bit slower. Unless Noah has some yet uncredited appearances in 15.20 and 15.21, I won't consider that his storyline was extended.

Thanks Raffy and Claire for all your pics, info and discussions. Great pics of the openeing of the Joshua Carter Centre. ;D Great that they got Thandie Newton back. The Carter story line wouldn't make sense without her. I didn't like the "joke" to Banfield about the transplant in epi 17. I thought it was tasteless. Apart from that , I was just glad to see so much of Noah being so moving. If they killed Carter off, it would be too stuipid, but these pics show that they won't, so I'm looking forward so much to seeing so much of Carter. There can never be too much. I don't care about how much time Carter's story eats in to current story lines ( many of which I find boring anyway). The more Carter the better. I'm so glad they aren't just giving him cameo roles, which was what I feared. I will enjoy seeing Doug and Carol again, but Susan and Benton especially, because, as you say, they were Carter's real friends. I know I shall cry when the last episode finally comes, but I hope with happiness. Looks like it will be a happy ending now. I do so hope so

I didn't like the joke to Banfield about the transplant in epi 17. I thought it was tasteless. I wasn't sure what to think of it at first. Before Carter's "I'm just kidding" I thought it was really unrealistic bad writing. How could he know her bloodtype and antigens group? So I was really relieved and glad to see they were not going in that direction and it was just a joke. I thought it was really well played by Noah and Angela Basset. And actually, I find it quite into character for Carter. He's protecting himself behind humor. But we didn't get enough background about how he feels about waiting for a transplant. I hope it will come, that there'll be serious discussion about it. With just that joke, that can feel like he's taking it all lightly and I don't think he can do that. I imagine that having to ask relatives to donate a kidney is something really really hard to do! And we don't know if he tried, if he asked his parents. Maybe he had to do it, see their face dropping like Banfield's face in that episode, and it was hard for him and now he needs to be light and use humor about it. I really hope they'll develop that story, explain why apparently no relative was able to donate, explain how he feels... But ER often likes to show things only in a subtle way and things all implicit only. Usually I find that good, but sometimes real explanations are missing. Same here! ;D The other characters are there just to interact with Carter in "my" ER!

Thanks for the great pics, Noah in a suit and tie What was he saying to Sherry to make her laugh like that? You know I wasn't going to read any spoilers and I just can't keep away. Thanks again for finding all this info.
