It's not short only in the dialysis scene. It's quite short when he arrives in the ER, definitely short (as short as in the last scene I think...) in the lounge scene, and really noticeably longer in the outside scenes in Chicago ;D.

You're right, it's really short in the lounge scene, too! I KNEW there was something that bugged me about that scene. And the Chicago hair is really looking like this dude- Except without the "lol" sign, for obvious reasons. They must have shot this episode over the course of quite a long time... Or at least, the Noah scenes... Also, I need to stop obsessing with his hair and go pack my stuff. Hmmmph. Hair obsessing is so much more fun.

I swear I don't have any free time on my hands... but I still took time checking titles of episodes of House, MD, over its 6 seasons now and found 5 titles in common with ER. Humpty Dumpty Lockdown The Greater Good (a) House Divided Now What? and a few pretty close... House vs. ER: Help me - Rescue me Control - Under control and 2 House eps: "All in" and "Family"... As for Grey's Anatomy : Under Pressure Great Expectations (The) Heart of the Matter Owner of a lonely heart vs. Owner of a broken heart I think it's all pure coincidence, and the fact that you can't come up with so many different short titles (and it shows episodes' titles are not copyrighted... thank god for the poor writers...)

Looks like you've conducted quite the research, Claire! I'm sure if we check all the medical dramas, we'll find not only titles that match but plenty of storylines that repeat themselves. it's hard to avoid.

It's not a medical drama but maybe it could count anyway.... Smalville, Episode 10.07 " Ambush"

Well this is random (and honestly pretty obsessive and sad on my behalf), but for the lack of anything better to discuss, I figured I might as well share... I'm avoiding studying for the occasional test by watching ER (of course), and luckily, there's a rerun of season 7's "sand and water". a good one...! So I'm watching for what must be the 88345th time, and I suddenly realize- has Carter always done the finger tapping thing to indicate nervousness? I'm talking about this, at 1:07--- I don't think I've ever noticed this before. I don't know if it's a Noah gesture or just something that he does for Carter- with many other actors I wouldn't even consider the idea that it's acting, but with Noah that's possible. It's just that we do see him playing that way with his fingers again when he's nervous in season 15, so either it's his genuine 'omg I'm so nervous' gesture, or else that's a whole other level of attention to details. Anyway, it's a nice touch of continuity there. Random, as I said. But gave me a reason to rewatch this scene. Also, I just spent an hour and a half trying to first isolate, then upload this scene. I HATE COMPUTERS. ETA: wow, that was fast, youtube ALREADY figure out it was copyrighted stuff. Oh well. Have I mentioned I hate computers?

I kind of imagine that when you play the same character for more than 250 episodes, the character's gestures become yours and vice versa . Not that it's not acting anymore, but for some small gestures, I imagine that the line between the actor and his character is not clear but is very thick and blurry... There must be some gestures that are clearly pure acting, and some others that belong only to the actor and that he didn't use in character, but for some small gestures, maybe an acting choice at a point (like playing with fingers), with rehearsals and playing the scenes 20 times, then that small gesture can at a point become unconsciously a new gesture for the actor. If that makes any sense... And talking about totally random, I'll now put a link to a commercial for mayonnaise!!! It's been bothering me for quite a while, because the woman playing the housemaid has always been triggering something in my mind telling me she had something to do with Noah , and I never really took the time to figure out why, because obviously there was no reason to get a connection between a french commercial for mayo and Noah, right? And finally I got it! ;D She indeed had something to do with Noah. And I thought I'll submit the "game" here too... Hint: yes, it has to do with Carter and something about France... (and nothing to do with mayo!)

Is the Mayo woman the actress who played Kem's mother in hospital in Paris?

Nope , but it's in the same episode indeed... and a small role, talking role, but small.

I think the mayo lady is, the woman Carter asked directions from when he arrived at the hospital and was looking for Kem's mothers room.

Wow! I have to admit you had me stumped. I totally didn't know that... I don't think I watched that episode, actually. it's from around the time I was so disgusted with what ER had become that I refused to watch, even for the chance of seeing a glimpse of Noah. Anyone remember the name/number of the episode? (or: need I even ask?) I have some catching up to do, apparently.

Thanks Bev! I remember the episode name, somehow I just managed to miss it. I'm not sure I want to watch it right now, I'm in a way too bad mood to be further depressed by Carter and Kem's whole situation. ETA: well, that was more depressing and more beautiful than I thought it would be. Hell of an episode to have missed, Anna. I knew what had happened with that storyline but I didn't actually see the scenes, and now... just... wow. Some of those scenes actually made me cry. And the whole Paris thing is so entirely corny and kitsch, that it's a great testimony to Noah's acting that they pulled it off. and I feel heartsick right now.
