Wow Anna! I did a little Russian at school about a hundred years ago and I'm surprised I understood your first three words to Raffy. The rest , alas, no.....
I always marvelled at how well Noah did those interpreting scenes in FailSafe, but now I know it was even more accurate than I realised. Thank you Anna for that. Noah's performance in This movie has gone up even higher in my estimate, if that's possible. Great Icons too!

Thanks guys! I really do urge you to watch it. It's an odd movie... the pacing is really unique... but it's still very very relevant in today's climate, and it definitely makes you wonder. Janet, Russian is really difficult to learn as a second language... Other than the fact it's a whole other set of characters, Russian grammar is a huge headache. the fact you could even read that is really impressive! unfortunately my spelling and reading are pretty bad in Russian, so it's very possible you didn't understand what I wrote because I misspelled the words. Oh, the entire cast of this movie is amazing. But this for me is a perfect example of typical brilliant acting from Noah- very subtle, very accurate delivery... very believable.

I didn't understand what you wrote , Anna, because I've forgotten most of what I learnt in Russian and I was never that good. Actually I found learning the script easy and still remember it, but I couldn't cope with the grammar at all. It was always far too complicated for me, but I always loved the sound of the language. It's so musical.
I'm really glad we now have some more Fail Safe fans. I always loved Noah in that movie, because his performance was so technically brilliant and its a very important drama too.
For emtional hotness I prefer The Myth of Fingerprints. Not such a good film dramatically, but Noah is to die for in it. Oh and then there's the Pirates of Silicon Valley. What a tour de force!
I wish Noah was in more feature films and in starring roles. He's too godd just to be in TV movies and series. That said bring on the "Alien Invasion"

I'm an absolute fan of Buck! I just love Buck! ;D Anna, I didn't know the "translation" was really in good timing. That adds to the performance indeed! ;D Although it can appear at first that Noah has just a supporting role in Fail Safe (the little translator arriving quite late in the movie...), it's a very important one (actually, Richard Dreyfuss and Noah have the two leading roles I think...). At the most important moments of the movie there's a close-up on Noah's face. Buck's reaction is what's shown first... and Buck is the last one to leave the room. He is the 'normal' guy in the middle of the "power" people and militaries, just witnessing the big decisions being taken. And Noah's performance, live, is more than perfect. (What else?) I used to think so too, but I think now that times have changed, and TV is not less good quality than feature films all the time anymore. Some series are critically acclaimed, and I think TV actors can be now as famous as movie ones, and also as praised for their talent as feature movies actors. And big names of the feature films industry, directors, producers, writers, are now working for TV (ER might have been the beginning of it all ... ). I just wish all in all that Noah could show more of his talent, on TV or in theaters...

Lol! I was searching for an old joke about Fourier transforms... and look what I found (no idea why it came up! Must be a sign...): Maybe Tom Mason should use Fourier transform against the little green guys...

I guess Fourier Transform just does that to people. I finally figured out what it means: it means the procedure in which you transform a sane, healthy person into a weeping green alien. Or at least a very frustrated student. (K-space... aliens... something here is begging to be made into a joke...) I'd say stick 'em in an MRI machine for 30 minutes and let the noise drive them nuts, but then people will say it's too much like ER...
