Last night's Falling Skies was called Compass for a reason. It helps set the direction emotionally and literally for the rest of the season. Also because Jimmy had a Compass. Noah was fabulous as always! ;D When Pope and the Berserkers kidnap Tom, I was so upset. I knew it was going to happen, but to see it.... I don't know... I get emotional with the T.V and I was saying let him go. Ben came out of no were and scared me, but he did save his Daddy. The scene with Tom in it when he called Pope an a$$hole. I was already crying and upset because they killed off a young kid. But when Tom went in to punch Pope, I said "Yeah, kick his a$$." Pope needed a a$$ kicking and I was happy it was Tom to give it to him. Noah put so much emotion into the scene (like every scene, but this one really got me) where he was helping clean up Jimmy and dress him for burial, it made me so emotional I was balling. Speaking of Jimmy... they killed off a kid! He was 13 years old and they killed off a kid WTH?! That really upseted me. I don't like watching kids die of any age. Couldn't they done an adult? Or someone we didn't know? Jimmy was in season one and we all knew him a little and he was in the comics, I never thought he would have gotten killed off. Are you shocked to see an airplane? I sure was! Considering the aliens own the sky. Even though she said she flew low out of their radar, I still don't believe that. They are smarter than we think and by now I think they would have picked her up. Charleston, South Carolina-- I don’t know if it is a good idea, but we all know they will head there anyways. Running hot water? Electricity? How do they have that when the world now is living in the dark ages. I can’t really believe that. I don’t trust Avery Churchill! It’s a trap! Her offer sounded to go to be true. Also that Red Eye Skitter I think is not only communicating with Ben but also getting information. I think the invaders all know where they are going now which could also lead to a trap. I felt like this episode led to more questions... Overall, the episode was very moving, emotional but good. Falling Skies season 2 really is my favorite season. ;D

Noah was fabulous as always! ;D Oh yeah... I found that he put anger and almost exploding emotion in his character in a way that I never really saw before. Sometimes I feel like I can't enjoy Noah's acting 100% because, well, I know it by heart... (it's hard to be surprised when you watched an actor's work about 10-20 times in all he did) And someone's face doesn't have an infinity of emotions available... But once in while (quite often actually...), he still surprises me! and that was the case last night. ;D What I find very interesting about Tom in Compass is that you see he's at a point where he can very easily lose control. As he said, he 'snapped' at a point. And when talking to Weaver after Weaver punched the locker like crazy, his voice is breaking, he's almost exploding... but still with a bit of control. This was complex and intense acting by Noah I thought. Tom says, twice I think, that he might be crazy / insane, and Noah really put a nice little touch here and there showing it might become the case... Yeah, it's just too good to be true. I imagine that people would be able to have hot water and radio only if the overlords are helping them doing that. Charleston could very well be the 'neutral zone' that they offered to Tom... As for Redeye, I believe too that he is trying to get information, but we've read that some of the skitters might actually end up helping the humans, and I think Redeye is following Ben and Tom, because they are interesting... They resist. The harness process is not evolving for Ben as it did for Rick. Ben is not letting it happen. And Tom didn't want to fall in the overlord's trap.
The 'eye bug' may have been a way to follow Tom and get to see what Tom was seeing, in order to learn about the 2nd Mass. And Redeye is seeing a bunch of resisting people, that might actually help him too... We saw that Ben is somehow controlled by Redeye, but I'm wondering if Tom doesn't have a sort of ability to see/predict what Redeye is up to. While with the berserkers, he knew they shouldn't attack and that a mech was going to show up. It could have been a 'normal' guess, but I'm wondering if there's not more to it. There were a few quotes that I really liked and that made me laugh or go 'awww'... ;D I'll need to rewatch later to get them well. ETA: Greg Beeman's blog is updated! ;D gregbeeman.blogspot.fr/ Looks like they had terrible weather conditions to shoot this episode...

Charleston could very well be the 'neutral zone' that they offered to Tom... I think it is also a neutral zone. The Overlords have to be involved, because with electricity and hot water they would pick up on that. Plus 3,000 people; in the season one premiere they had to divide into groups of no more than 200 people to get off the radar. It all just looks bad to me. As for Redeye, I believe too that he is trying to get information, but we've read that some of the skitters might actually end up helping the humans, and I think Redeye is following Ben and Tom, because they are interesting... And Redeye is seeing a bunch of resisting people, that might actually help him too... Since the Skitter's were harnessed, I can see them helping. I'm sure it will take some time to persuade them, I'm sure they have been brain washed too. I think Tom will also have a connection with them or maybe to the Overlords and Ben with the Skitters. I think having Tom have a connection with them would be a very interesting story line. To play on that "crazy" maybe they can make him hear them. ETA: Greg Beeman's blog is updated! ;D gregbeeman.blogspot.fr/ Looks like they had terrible weather conditions to shoot this episode... Awe, I wish they didn't kill off Dylan's character. I think they could have taken Ben and the Jimmy team father before killing him off. Noah always knows what to say. He is a sweetheart. ;D

After re-watching, here are some lines that I really liked in this episode ;D Anne: You look terrible… Tom: What?? Anne: Sorry, you look great. Tom: Really? Anne: No. Pope: Your boys will be looked after as if they were my own. That's a promise... Pope: Are you insane? Tom: I don't know. If I am, I guess we'll have that in common. Tom: What are you and Jimmy doing hunting skitters, Ben? Ben: They put spikes on my back, they killed Mom, they killed everyone... I need a reason? Tom: I can't protect him anymore. We can't protect 'em anymore. All we can do is prepare them for the world that's in front of them and it's a world where kids have to grow up too fast. Tom: The only good news is that we've got each other to go through a lousy situation. The bad news is, it's a lousy situation. (I just love how Tom and Ben say that last part in exactly the same tone, exactly together...) Tom: God, you're an @sshole Pope. (Gotta love how Noah delivers that one also... )
