Thought I introduce myself. Called myself NoahWyleFan which is what I am. *grin* Have to admit still fairly new, although I watched ER on and off years ago and Carter was my favorite back then..I never caught the bug very much back then...it has now though. LOL I actually caught the bug when I decided to get The Librarian box set, already watched the movie some time ago and loved it and wanted to see the others too. After that I went to look on youtube for Noah Wyle stuff and of course came across ER clips etc and that rekindled my interest in ER and decided to give the series another try and well am slowly (or not as slowly, when you watch 4 to 6 eps a day) working myself through the entire series, buying them 4, 5 at a time. Am now in season 6 and have season boxes up to season 11 waiting. *grin* I went googling and came across the news that he's to appear in Falling Skies and now I'm eagerly awaiting that series. Will have to watch online somewhere as I don't expect Dutch tv to pick it up very soon. Anyway am totally in love with Noah. *grin* Realisticly in love that is, love his acting, love his personality what you can see of it in interviews and behind the scenes etc. He just looks like a great, pretty down to earth guy. And I have to say...I just love his giggle. Also just curious..how do fans react to Noah's beard these days? LOL I read on the Net that when Noah grew a beard in ER, loads of fans hated it and begged him to get rid of it. Have to admit, I prefer a clean shaved Noah..but somehow the beard he wears in that Cowboy magazine or what it's called is very sexy and the beard he has in Falling Skies, not too bad, it fits the story and the grungy look of the series.

Hi there! I'm glad we're getting some new fans, now with the Falling Skies exposure hopefully more people will stumble across the board while looking for news... ;D Fresh blood is always fun. Oh no, that makes me sound like a vampire... ER is a fantastic show, I'm glad you're catching up on it. It would be weird for me to watch the entire show in such a short time, you know? The cast has changed so much and the stories are so intense that it usually takes me a while to process each episode... watching 3,4 episodes a day seems like way too much to me! Oh, what I wouldn't give to be watching ER for the first time... And yup, The Librarian really is a delightful trilogy. Which movie is your favorite? Make sure you check out our polls and cast a vote... So far, the third movie is winning! Same problem here, I'll let you know as soon as I figure out where we can watch it. Anyway, I'm sure it won't be a problem to find it online. The beard is the single most controversial subject on this board. We try to avoid being too... ummm... offensive in our beard hatred, but some of us definitely like it less. I think these two icons sum up the two main opinions among fans: Myself? I mostly agree with you. I like him clean-shaven, but I think the beard adds a certain roughness that actually works very well for playing it tough in Falling Skies. Hope you stick around, looking forward to chatting with you!

Well I have already cast my vote in the Librarian poll. Just watched all three movies again yesterday...yup I did, one after the other. *grin* And I must say after seeing them again..number 3 is by far my favorite. #1 has it's charms because Flynn is a total newbie to this hero stuff, and oh so charming..but #3 is just great, Flynn is more confident but still a bumbling idiot at times. And I think the chemistry between him and his leading lady was perfect in this movie. The other ladies just didn't connect well with Noah I think, although #2 was better already then #1. I'm just hoping that we'll see a Librarian 4 someday, I would like to see a happy ending for Flynn, finding a leading lady that actually stays. Well when it comes to ER...I just can't help myself..I kind of consider myself a first time watcher although I did see the begin of the series years ago when it was first aired on Dutch TV..but that was so long ago that most of it I can't even remember. And once I get watching I just can't stop..when I finish an episode I just hunger for more and if I still have time I just continue. *grin* So yeah mostly it's between 2 and 4 eps a day..mostly in the evening..but I had a couple days off from work last week and I actually spend one day, watching I think 6 episodes in one day. LOL I figured the beard was still a kind of sensitive topic. LOL I must say having one of the Falling Skies pics as my Mac wallpaper and also having some bearded pics as my iPhone wallpaper, the beard is certainly growing on me. I think the beard is a better version now, then it was back in the ER days..then it was too bushy..to prominent. Now it's more rugged, more manly..maybe even more sexier. I think it does make Noah look more mature, because amazing as it is..with the naked face he still has the kind of baby face, although I have seen clips of last season of ER and he's definitly matured..in a very good way. So I'm kind of sitting on the fence when it comes to the beard..sexy definitly...but still prefer him naked..beardwise that is...*pulling brain out of the gutter*

But having seen each Librarian movie about 10 times, and same for ER episodes, it's really becoming high time that we get something new to watch! ;D

Thanks guys, well just finished watching Such Sweet Sorrow..next is May Day which will be dramatic I think with Carter's addiction finally coming out. I really loved Such Sweet Sorrow..man you just want to grab Carter in one huge hug and absorb all his misery for him. I also think they did a great job on the make-up in this episode, he looks exhausted and well it shows how Noah is one hell of an actor because even his eyes look exhausted. And did I see right? When he goes outside at night to smoke..it's a joint? The first hint of his drug addiction? Anyway now contemplating if I should watch May Day or leave that for tomorrow as it's almost midnight and have to get up early tomorrow, have to go to hospital with my mom..darn if only there was a Carter there...I wouldn't mind. LOL
Anyway thanks for the welcome all, will look forward chatting with you more about our joined obsession. And yup...I haven't been this excited about a new TV-series in a long long time..really looking forward to seeing Falling Skies. I am keeping everything crossed that it will become a great succes for him and everyone else on the FS team.

In general, I like a clean-shaven man, but in saying that I think a beard really suits him when it's well-groomed.

And did I see right? When he goes outside at night to smoke..it's a joint? The first hint of his drug addiction? I don't think so... looks like a regular cigarette to me (which was 'shocking' enough, since we never had any hint ever before that Carter could smoke... ) Count me in the "rather beard than clean-shaven" but I know I'm not in the majority with that

I also think they did a great job on the make-up in this episode, he looks exhausted and well it shows how Noah is one hell of an actor because even his eyes look exhausted. I wondered if it was partly due to make-up and otherwise down to allowing himself to show the sheer exhaustion that the cast and crew must experience being on that show! I had to look twice upon first viewing the ep as well, but I think it was just an ordinary cigarette. I was surprised too, as up until then we'd never been given any indication that Carter smoked. Perhaps they did it to show that he was looking for vices.

Okay well, I don't have experience with joints, but what he smoked looked like a handdrawn/made cigarette to me and the form kind of reminded me of what I have seen in movies and documentaries etc how a joint looks like, I could be wrong of course. *grin* I think the smoking was a nice touch..a kind of sign of something that's off, since we didn't know Carter would/could smoke. Plus of course, Noah smokes in real life. Didn't even know that until I found some pics of him smoking against a limo, which looks darn sexy and it gave me a good look at his tattoo's too which I also didn't know he had. *grin*

The end of season 6 (and beginning of season seven) was really very good. Very dramatic, well written and well played. You're right about Noah's performance, it was very convincing and disturbing. I still can't believe he didn't win an Emmy for that. ( ) And to repeat what most people already said- no, it doesn't look home-made to me, it looks like a regular cigarette. I think they left it vague on purpose. If it's a joint, it's an obvious sort of red light for May Day (and still I really didn't see it coming), but even if it's a regular cigarette, it doesn't make it any less worrisome. The Carter we've seen for 6 years would know better than that. I think the 'looking for vices' thing is exactly right... even if you ignore the drug use, there's clearly PTSD and some serious guilt issues. It's not too hard to understand why he'd want to 'punish' himself, on some level. (.... I should really ban myself from season 6 related discussions. It's not healthy, how often I keep coming back to that subject. )

Okay so had to rewatch the smoking scene to see if I was wrong and I was. *grin* In the light of the lighter, it's clear it's a regular cigarette. Had a busy morning and afternoon so no chance in watching yet. Going to get some groceries and then I think I'll sit down for May Day. Or I'll wait till after dinner so I can really concentrate on it without the risk of interruption from the family.

Well just finished May Day and oh man...this is another one of my fave episodes. Got a couple on the list already but this one..that end scene with the intervention and Carter walking away and then Benton going after him, pulling him into that hug and then going all the way with him on the plane. Totally awesome and heartbreaking at the same time..men I felt a bit teary eyed when Carter broke down. This will definitly be on my fave list.
