I know I'm probably getting on your nerves by now with all this studies stuff. But I just have to tell you that I passed my big oral exam (the one about all the subjects of my studies so far) this afternoon!!! I'm sooo happy right now, I wanna hug each and everyone of you. Where are you gals? Come here!

Yes. Not the one Noah wanted, alas - a much weaker version, but better than nothing

Yeah, actually, the news makes me rather sad . It means it's really over for a better health care reform... Noah was against this type of reform, and was right about it I think. Giving tax credits does not concern the ones who don't pay taxes (if I understood it right), thus the reform lets aside the ones the more in need. Private health insurance companies will only get more clients, more money for them, who really didn't need it... How I understood it is that the first attempts for a reform were trying to get to a system looking like the french one, with a single payer and/or public option, and they now just got a swiss system (as far as I know it... ) where you are forced to pay for a private health insurance, expensive one, whether you can really afford it or not... The good thing is at least that now insurance companies cannot refuse to cover people who are already sick. It looks like these companies will be better controlled and forced to do better.

At first I was happy too that the new healthcare reform passed, even if it's a weakened version than Obama originally wanted, but reading your comment Claire makes me a bit sad now, 'cause I think you've got a point there ... well it's a start on still a long way to go. And at least all the dedication for "cover the uninsured" paid off.
