Do we want to talk about people who jumped to conclusion he has a cancer? As a nurse myself, I am more worried about someone with a fistula working in one ER . Infection control, nice to meet you all. ;D ;D Maybe, because I am a nurse and worked in one dialysis center, I am too worried about John's situation... if spoilers are correct that is. Maybe he's not " as good as dead" but he is very sick and I guess that shows in last scene. I am not expecting good news on 15.17.

Well, I think it's sure that he needs a transplant because spoilers say so. But I don't have a clue why he needs it and what's happend to him. The only thing I know is that he seems really worried about his conditions and considering he's a doctor I don't think that's a good sign. But after reading the new spoilers, I'm more faithful that he won't die.

Thanks for the song and the lyrics! That was an awesome song, fitting so well for when they showed Carter in Chicago.
Yeah, it doesn't seem safe. And certainly not a resting and relaxing place for someone sick to work in.
I wonder if we will learn more why he so much wants to work at County even with his health condition. I think it's been quite a constant for Carter in ER history to escape his problems with working hard, often beyond his abilities. We saw him coming back to work on crutches in season 6, obviously not recovered enough to work well. And he asked for more shifts after his son's death at the beginning of season 11, and Weaver told him that she thought it was an addict behavior and denied him the right to do those extra shifts.
I hope he's not in that trend again, because I think he has matured over years and wouldn't do that mistake again. I hope he has other reasons to want to work.

Did he say that he wants to update his skills? If he wants to work again I don't think it would be safe for him working in refugee camps. I think he has to give up with the doctors without borders thing while he's dialysis and after the transplant, so maybe he's just considering the possibility of working again in hospital and he still doesn't know where he'll work; bur while he's in Chicago County seems a perfect choice to resume working.

Yeah, it makes sense that he just wants to work and get back to a sort of normal life. If he knows at this point that his renal failure is permanent and he needs a transplant, he can't just stop living and do nothing while waiting for a transplant, which can take years...
I just hope there'll be some real explanation by him at a point, why at County especially, is he really so attached to this place? Why did he look so sad when we first saw him arriving at County in 15.16? He didn't look "in love" with this place at all... I'd like to know what was on his mind when he had this so sad look in his Jeep. And I hope they'll explain for how long he's been in renal failure, if he decided to come back to Chicago right away or if it's another kind of later choice... I really hope that they won't let too many things unexplained.

And with his group I don't know if it's so easy He could wait a lot before he get it. Probably it's that the point of the storyline. Showing how organs' donation can change and save other lifes. It was exactly that. And a lot other sad thoughts

I never really understood how it worked. I remember in the episode "The Providers" in season 11 that they mentioned that the girl (who got her father's kidney once she was grown up enough) had waited long partly because she was group O. I understand that people with group O can only receive group O organs, while group O organs can go to any group recipients, but shouldn't there be some kind of rules to make it statistically equally likely for people who are O to get an organ?
It wouldn't be fair if a group O kidney for instance can go with the same likelihood to someone who is A or who is O, while a A kidney can only go to a A recipient.

Since noahwylebeard asked for screencaps from this episode, and I just downloaded season 15, AND figured out how to make it automatically take screencaps, I made about 500 of screencaps from just the Carter scenes. ;D You can download them from here. They're not the best quality, sorry. Now I warn you that it took a picture every 25 frames so there's 99% junk there, you can look through them and delete the bad ones. I just really don't have the time--- exam tomorrow.
