Just watched 'live'... It was a good episode, not a great one, but a good one, more intense on the emotional part than on the action this time. It had me close to tears a few times... and a few times still cringing at the cheesiness. They could really go with more subtle... But all in all, I was really actually moved. I still don't know what to make of Margaret. She can be interesting, but somehow I don't manage to get interested in her. Scene with Tom telling Hal how proud he is... okay, I started rolling my eyes a bit, and then Noah totally won the scene. Yup, he turns 'cheesy' into 'great' and made me teary. Was I so slow that I didn't pick up before that the JFK High School used to be Pope's lair? Weaver putting back on "Many rivers to cross" was totally predictable. Got a strong déjà vu feeling in the scene when Anne and Tom discusses about surgeons caring about patients... Skitter sleeping over the kids, totally creepy! Real harnessed kids have a 'lighted' alive harness. Hal's was off. How can't skitters 'see' that? I was feeling a bit disgusted when Tom, while hugging Hal (and one for the road! ), was also sort of hugging the harness, and it made me smile that he noticed it too . Trailer for next ep is interesting... but there's a spoiler a long time ago that I probably shouldn't have read. I feel like I totally know where this next plot is going to go

Yes, much more emotional as an episode. I felt more involved. The Harris thing was a total shock ( won't say more for those who haven't seen it yet). I didn't see that coming. Some of the rest still way too sugary, especially the baby shower near the end, cheesey even by Spielberg standards, but only one and a half hugs in this epi and the end was better than last week's epi. Yes the "Many Rivers to cross" bit was predictable, but the starkness of the shot and Weaver standing in that shabby, empty place was quite moving and when Ben "wakes up" the contrast in his expression and Tom's and Hal's was very well done.
I agree, creep moment of the epi was skitters "carressing" the kid's hair and acting like "loving" parents. How creepy was that! I thought that was a great touch and sets up the intrigue as to what the precise relationship between the aliens and the children is.
I found Ann's show of emotion at last, over her loss, was very powerful. What do you do if you have no souvenirs, nothing left to help you mourn? That wasn't sentimental. They should have more of that and less "I'm proud of you, son" type dialogue. That scene with Tom and Hal was well acted, not just Noah was good at holding back/mixed emotions and slight embarrassment, but the dialogue was so cliché ridden. Sometimes the script should be sharper, I feel.
I am sort of getting into Margaret's story and looking at how she is going to relate to Hal.
Weired to see Noah in a medical trauma setting, albeit so different from ER. Difficult not to compare, although they did make his role very different and, great actor that he is, you would never have guessed that he's played a medic elsewhere , if you hadn't already known.
All in all quite a good epi , a good mix of action and drama, but still a bit too much cheese and a few plot holes/queries...?

Oh yeah, the sugary sweetness with the baby shower... Cheese factor aside, I was really moved by this episode. So it makes me tend to like it, even though I agree some of the dialogue could have been more sophisticated. I thought Anne's storyline here was really beautifully done. Moon was good, the buildup of emotion throughout the episode was good and it was believable and made me relate to her character, which I haven't been able to do so far. More of this, please. That he could make THAT script work (and he did), tells you everything you need to know about how good an actor he is. I finally figured out what's been bugging me about Weaver all along: I don't like Will Patton's acting. So unlike with Drew Roy or Noah or Moon, who can make the corny stuff sound better, with Weaver I just can't get past the corny. *shrugs* Bothered me too. Maybe they're color-blind? Or don't have very good night vision? So that was TWO hugs, right? One before Hal went into the hospital and one with Matt, later on... Thank god I didn't read any spoilers... I won't watch previews, either, it works better this way, especially with a show that's a little predictable. Speaking of predictable--- Harris---- well, that wasn't predictable. I did NOT see that coming. Very creepy indeed, but also very intriguing. That skitter did not seem like it was guarding prisoners... It seemed almost fond of them. And if you add that little piece of information to the fact that we still don't know how, but apparently the skitters cured Rick... I find it strange that I DIDN'T find it strange to see Noah in a medical setting again. I don't know how to explain that. I'd expect it to be weird but I was really into the scene, and the irony of the situation didn't cross my mind until much later. Except Anne calling 'stat' made me roll my eyes. Really? STAT?

Moon was good, the buildup of emotion throughout the episode was good and it was believable and made me relate to her character, which I haven't been able to do so far. More of this, please. Totally agree... First time the show brought tears to my eyes was her breaking down scene in front of the 'missing kids' board. I don't either... It's a matter of taste I guess, but I didn't from episode 1, and I already noticed I didn't in the first trailers. Just not working for me... I'm not that interested in knowing what happened to him at the moment of the attack... But I do wonder why he took pills. It was a very short scene but I feel like it was important. That was the first time I think that we saw him do that, and I'm wondering if it wasn't the reason for him to insist so much on saving the kids ('cause it implied getting drugs first... ) Lol!, I see what you mean. I didn't really notice or found it strange either. I didn't have to think much at all to not see Carter. Well, I didn't see Carter at all . There was just one little discussion between Anne and Tom I think (I need to re-watch... ) that felt to me like it was a direct hint at Noah's previous career ... Something else that has been bothering me a bit: How did they get the 6 kids out of there? It's not like they looked like they were just going to nicely follow, and it was 6 of them for 5 rescuers... I didn't mind the baby shower scene somehow, rather liked it even... That tells us that corny is really a personal pov. I was just bothered by how the stethoscope is passed from the mom to Lourdes, while remembering that doctors watching ER were complaining that the actors were often putting them wrong, in the direction where they wouldn't hear a thing. So if they can just switch like that, who was the one between Mom and Lourdes to not hear a thing?

This little conversation was when Tom told Ann he want her to operate Ben, because she cared....and Ann told him that an surgeon would not see that as a plus - but patiens do....was his answer...and Carter always cared about his patiens....that remind me a lot of his role...

the one with 'Most surgeons wouldn't consider that an advantage'? Yeah, I was getting strong Carter vibes there. I think I managed to miss that. I wonder where they're going with this. they did look kind of 'zoned out', so I don't suppose it would have been too hard to lead them away, none of the kids was actually resisting from the moment the skitter was dead. As for the stethoscope... I really don't know too much about what they would and wouldn't hear, but to be honest Lourdes didn't really have to hear anything, her sole purpose here was to assure the mom everything's okay. So it works just as well if she was bluffing.

Yeah! crazy!
The alien caressed the children as if they were his own ... and when the alien is killed, a child is next and looks sad! A girl, she touches the alien who died !!!!!
Otherwise the game Moon was really good, I liked the emotion

There were more than 5 of them...they had a bunch of other dudes with them to rescue the kids...i was wondering the same, but then i rewatch it and saw, Dai was waving towards the camera...and other fighters came and help them....so they were also an Recon-Team or the first to clear the area...
And I was wondering what else is to explore on the skitters....what we don`t know yet....
